Description

Classic Heart Linzer Cookies are delightful sandwich cookies filled with jam, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup strawberry or raspberry jam
  • Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy; add vanilla and salt.
  3. Mix in flour and almond flour until dough forms; chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out dough and cut into rounds; cut heart centers out of half the cookies.
  5. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden, then cool completely.
  6. Dust the heart-cut cookies with powdered sugar.
  7. Spread jam on the solid cookies, then sandwich with the cut-out tops so the jam shows through the heart.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is softened for easier mixing.
  • Chilling the dough helps in easier rolling and cutting.
  • Use high-quality jam for the best flavor.
