Description

This delicious berry syrup is perfect for pancakes, waffles, French toast, and ice cream.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups blackberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and cornstarch. Whisk until combined, then add the blackberries and lemon juice.
  2. Over medium high heat, bring to a boil, then mash and stir while boiling for 2 minutes, or until the berries are soft and plump.
  3. Remove from the heat, add the vanilla extract and stir.
