Description
A delicious cake made with fresh apples, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 medium-sized apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
- Peel and slice the apples thinly. If you like a hint of spice, sprinkle a bit of cinnamon over the slices for extra flavor.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and sugar. Mix well to ensure even distribution.
- Add the sliced apples to the flour and sugar mixture. Stir gently until the apples are well-coated.
- Use your hands to mix everything until the apples are fully integrated into the dry ingredients. The texture should resemble a thick batter with visible apple slices.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly. Tap the pan gently to eliminate any air bubbles.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once done, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- After the cake has cooled, slice it and serve as desired.
Notes
- If you enjoy cinnamon, consider adding a sprinkle to the batter for enhanced flavor.
- This cake pairs well with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
