Description

A delicious and easy recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls filled with a savory meat and rice mixture, simmered in a rich tomato sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • ½ lb ground beef or pork
  • ½ cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water or broth

Instructions

  1. Boil cabbage leaves for 2–3 minutes until soft; drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground meat, rice, onion, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place a spoonful of filling in each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pot, arrange rolls seam-side down, and pour in tomato sauce and water.
  5. Cover and simmer on low heat for 40–45 minutes until rolls are tender.
  6. Adjust seasoning and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve warm with extra tomato sauce spooned on top.
