A delicious and easy recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls filled with a savory meat and rice mixture, simmered in a rich tomato sauce.

- 8 large cabbage leaves
- ½ lb ground beef or pork
- ½ cup cooked rice
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup water or broth
Instructions
- Boil cabbage leaves for 2–3 minutes until soft; drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, rice, onion, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of filling in each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Heat olive oil in a pot, arrange rolls seam-side down, and pour in tomato sauce and water.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 40–45 minutes until rolls are tender.
- Adjust seasoning and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with extra tomato sauce spooned on top.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground meat with lentils or mushrooms.
- Feel free to add herbs like dill or parsley for extra flavor.
- These rolls can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
