Description
Delicious chicken strips wrapped in crispy bacon, coated in brown sugar and seasonings. Perfect as an appetizer or main dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breast strips
- 8–10 slices bacon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken strips dry with paper towels. Season them with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Wrap with Bacon: Lay a strip of bacon on a clean surface and place a chicken strip on top. Wrap the bacon around the chicken tightly. Secure with a toothpick if necessary.
- Coat with Brown Sugar: Roll each bacon-wrapped chicken strip in brown sugar until evenly coated.
- Bake: Place the bacon-wrapped chicken strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the chicken is cooked through.
- Optional Glaze (for added flavor): While the chicken is baking, prepare a simple glaze by mixing a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of Dijon mustard. Brush it over the chicken strips in the last 5 minutes of baking.
Notes
- Variations: You can add some heat by incorporating cayenne pepper with the brown sugar.
- Serving Suggestions: These are great as appetizers or served with a side salad for a full meal.
- Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to retain crispness.
- Avoiding Soggy Bacon: To ensure the bacon is crispy, use a rack on your baking sheet to allow fat to drip away.
