A delicious burger that combines the flavors of pepperoni pizza with a juicy beef patty.

- 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 16 slices pepperoni
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
- Optional: red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty slightly larger than the buns.
- Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Prepare the Pizza Buns: Preheat the broiler to high. Place the bottom halves of the hamburger buns on a baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce over each bun and layer with 2 slices of pepperoni. Add a slice of mozzarella cheese on top and broil for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
- Assemble the Burger: Place the cooked patties on the prepared buns. Top each patty with more pizza sauce, additional pepperoni slices, and fresh basil leaves. Add the top half of the bun and press gently to secure.
