Description

Juicy sausages wrapped in ‘pasta bandages’ with spooky eyes, served in a bubbling marinara ‘blood’ sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Sausages (Italian, bratwurst, or hot dogs)
  • 8 oz Fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce
  • 4 Mozzarella balls or sliced cheese (for eyes)
  • Black olives (for pupils)
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil pasta until al dente, drain, and lightly toss with olive oil so noodles don’t stick.
  2. Cook sausages until browned and fully cooked.
  3. Wrap cooled pasta strands around sausages to look like mummy bandages, leaving small gaps.
  4. Place sausages in a baking dish with a layer of marinara sauce and heat in the oven at 375°F for 10 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Slice mozzarella or cheese into small circles for eyes; add black olive pieces for pupils.
  6. Place eyes on each sausage mummy before serving.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot in a bowl of marinara ‘blood.’

Notes

  • For a spicier version, use hot Italian sausages.
  • Feel free to use whole wheat pasta for a healthier option.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
