Description
Juicy sausages wrapped in ‘pasta bandages’ with spooky eyes, served in a bubbling marinara ‘blood’ sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 Sausages (Italian, bratwurst, or hot dogs)
- 8 oz Fettuccine or linguine pasta
- 2 cups Marinara sauce
- 4 Mozzarella balls or sliced cheese (for eyes)
- Black olives (for pupils)
- Fresh basil (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil pasta until al dente, drain, and lightly toss with olive oil so noodles don’t stick.
- Cook sausages until browned and fully cooked.
- Wrap cooled pasta strands around sausages to look like mummy bandages, leaving small gaps.
- Place sausages in a baking dish with a layer of marinara sauce and heat in the oven at 375°F for 10 minutes to meld flavors.
- Slice mozzarella or cheese into small circles for eyes; add black olive pieces for pupils.
- Place eyes on each sausage mummy before serving.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot in a bowl of marinara ‘blood.’
Notes
- For a spicier version, use hot Italian sausages.
- Feel free to use whole wheat pasta for a healthier option.
- Can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
