Jack Skellington Meat Pies are a delightful savory treat inspired by the iconic character from ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. These pies are filled with a rich mixture of ground beef and spices, topped with a whimsical crust.

- 1 lb Ground beef
- 2 Pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 1 cup Beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 2 tbsp Flour (for thickening)
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp Thyme
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease two pie dishes and line with bottom crusts.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Add a bit of flour and beef broth to create a thick, savory filling.
- Spoon the mixture evenly into the prepared crusts.
- Roll out top crusts and, using a small knife, carefully cut Jack Skellington–style eyes, nose, and a stitched smile.
- Place the decorative crusts on top of the pies, sealing the edges.
- Brush with an egg wash and bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and crisp. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or mushrooms.
- Ensure the crust is well sealed to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
- Serve with a side of gravy for added flavor.
