Description
A delicious and indulgent dessert that combines the flavors of chocolate chip cookies and Nutella in a gooey pie.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup Nutella (or any chocolate hazelnut spread)
- Additional chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
- Make Cookie Dough: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Assemble the Pie: Divide the dough in half. Press half of the cookie dough into the prepared pie dish. Spread the Nutella evenly over the top of the cookie layer. Gently press the remaining cookie dough over the Nutella layer. Sprinkle additional chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the center is still slightly soft. Allow the pie to cool in the dish for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
- Serve: Serve the pie warm for the gooey effect. It pairs well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- Softening Butter: Ensure butter is fully softened to achieve a smooth mixture.
- Nutella Layer: For an even spread, warm the Nutella in the microwave for a few seconds.
- Baking: Keep an eye on the pie while baking; ovens vary in temperature.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
