Description

Delicious golden crispy cheese bites, perfect for appetizers or snack time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes
  • 200g cream cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine the mozzarella cubes and cream cheese. Mix well until they are evenly blended.
  2. Shape the Bites: Using your hands, form small balls with the cheese mixture. Make sure they are tightly packed.
  3. Coat the Bites: Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Roll each cheese ball first in the flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure they are fully covered for a crispy texture.
  4. Chill: Place the coated cheese balls on a tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps the cheese bites keep their shape during frying.
  5. Fry the Cheese Bites: Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully lower the cheese bites into the oil using a slotted spoon. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve: Arrange the cheese bites on a serving plate. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for a touch of color and freshness.

Notes

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to ensure the bites become crispy quickly without soaking up too much oil.
  • You can experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors; cheddar or gouda work well.
  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture.
