Description

Delicious homemade bagels made with Greek yogurt

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose or whole wheat flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups thick Greek yogurt (strained-style preferred)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings: everything bagel seasoning, shredded cheese, cinnamon-sugar, sesame seeds, garlic & herbs, or even chocolate chips for a sweet twist

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add Greek yogurt and mix until a dough forms. Knead gently with floured hands until smooth (about 3–5 minutes).
  4. Divide dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and form a bagel shape.
  5. Place on baking sheet. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle on desired toppings.
  6. Bake for 25–28 minutes or until golden brown and firm to the touch. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
