Description

Rich, moist chocolate muffins loaded with chunks and topped with glossy melted chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks or chips
  • ½ cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. In one bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, then fold in chocolate chunks.
  5. Fill muffin cups ¾ full and bake for 18–22 minutes or until set.
  6. While warm, top each muffin with melted chocolate and extra chunks.
  7. Let cool slightly so the chocolate sets glossy and rich.
