Description

Indulge in these rich and luxurious chocolate ganache truffles, perfect for any celebration or as a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225g) high-quality dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for decoration)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ganache
    • Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
    • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering. Do not boil.
    • Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to melt.
    • Gently stir the mixture with a spatula until smooth and glossy.
    • Add the butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt, stirring until fully incorporated.
  2. Chill the Ganache
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the ganache.
    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
  3. Shape the Truffles
    • Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to scoop the ganache into balls.
    • Roll each ball in your hands until smooth, then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Decorate the Truffles
    • Roll each truffle in the cocoa powder until fully coated, tapping off any excess.
    • Drizzle caramel sauce over each truffle.
    • Press a few chocolate chips onto the top of each truffle for added decoration.
  5. Chill and Serve
    • Refrigerate the truffles for 30 minutes to set.
    • Serve chilled or at room temperature for a softer texture.

Notes

  • Choose Quality Chocolate: For the best taste, use high-quality chocolate with at least 70% cocoa content.
  • Flavor Variations: Add a splash of liqueur or espresso to the ganache for a unique flavor twist.
  • Storage: Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
  • Smooth Ganache: Ensure even melting by letting the cream and chocolate sit before stirring.
