- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder (for dusting)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for decoration)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ganache
- Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering. Do not boil.
- Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to melt.
- Gently stir the mixture with a spatula until smooth and glossy.
- Add the butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Chill the Ganache
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the ganache.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
- Shape the Truffles
- Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to scoop the ganache into balls.
- Roll each ball in your hands until smooth, then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Decorate the Truffles
- Roll each truffle in the cocoa powder until fully coated, tapping off any excess.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over each truffle.
- Press a few chocolate chips onto the top of each truffle for added decoration.
- Chill and Serve
- Refrigerate the truffles for 30 minutes to set.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature for a softer texture.
Notes
- Choose Quality Chocolate: For the best taste, use high-quality chocolate with at least 70% cocoa content.
- Flavor Variations: Add a splash of liqueur or espresso to the ganache for a unique flavor twist.
- Storage: Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
- Smooth Ganache: Ensure even melting by letting the cream and chocolate sit before stirring.
