- 5 Medjool dates (pitted)
- 2¼ cups milk (or almond milk / soy milk)
- 2 squares dark chocolate
- 2½ tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½–1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
- Pinch of salt
- Whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until completely smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a pot and heat over medium heat until hot, stirring often.
- Alternatively, heat in the microwave or directly in a blender that heats.
- Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream, and enjoy.
Notes
- This smoothie can be served hot or cold, depending on your preference.
- Adjust the amount of cocoa powder to taste for more or less chocolate flavor.
