Description

A spooky twist on a classic Italian favorite—juicy meatballs topped with cheesy “eyeballs” staring out from a bed of spaghetti.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground beef (or beef/pork mix)
  • 12 oz Spaghetti pasta
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce
  • 12 Mozzarella balls (bocconcini or sliced cheese rounds)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Black olives (for pupils)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef with egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; shape into meatballs.
  2. Place on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until cooked through.
  3. While meatballs bake, cook spaghetti until al dente and toss with marinara sauce.
  4. Slice mozzarella balls or cheese into rounds for “eyeball whites.”
  5. Cut black olives into small circles to form “pupils.”
  6. Place a cheese round on each hot meatball, then top with an olive slice; let the heat slightly melt the cheese.
  7. Arrange on top of spaghetti and garnish with parsley for a spooky serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute meatballs with plant-based alternatives.
  • Feel free to add additional spices to the meat mixture for extra flavor.
  • Serve immediately for the best presentation.
