- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 3/4 cup water
- Food coloring (various colors for a gradient effect)
- Edible glitter

Instructions
- Prepare Apples:
- Wash and thoroughly dry the apples to ensure the candy coating sticks.
- Remove the stems and insert a wooden stick or decorative straw into each apple’s core, ensuring it is secure.
- Prepare the Candy Mixture:
- In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water.
- Stir the mixture over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Cooking the Candy Coating:
- Once the sugar is dissolved, increase the heat and bring the mixture to a boil without stirring.
- Using a candy thermometer, allow the mixture to reach 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Add Colors:
- Divide the hot candy mixture into separate bowls for each color you plan to use.
- Add food coloring to each bowl, stirring gently to combine.
- Coat the Apples:
- Dip each apple into the colored candy mixture, tilting the pan to coat all sides.
- Allow excess candy to drip off.
- Immediately sprinkle edible glitter over the wet coating.
- Place the coated apples on a sheet of parchment paper to set and cool completely.
Notes
- Moisture-Free: Ensure apples are completely dry; moisture can prevent the candy from sticking.
- Gradient Effect: For a gradient look, dip each apple into one color and allow it to set slightly before dipping the lower half into another color.
- Safety: Be cautious while handling the hot candy mixture to avoid burns.
- Storage: Once cooled, store the candy apples in a cool, dry place. Avoid humidity to prevent stickiness.
