Description

A delicious Honey Sesame Chicken with Broccoli recipe that is quick and easy to make!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts (cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cups small broccoli florets
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ¼ cup oyster sauce
  • ¼ cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon of the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 2-3 minutes or until just tender.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for 30 seconds more.
  3. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil.
  4. Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste, and add it to the pan. Cook the chicken, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the oyster sauce, low sodium chicken broth, honey, toasted sesame oil, and soy sauce.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of cold water.
  7. Pour the oyster sauce mixture over the chicken and broccoli; cook for 30 seconds. Add the cornstarch and bring to a boil; cook for one more minute or until the sauce has just started to thicken.
  8. Top with sesame seeds and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and honey for about 30 minutes before cooking.
