Description

Delicious and easy-to-make caramel apple crumble bars that are perfect for dessert or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine Crumble Mixture: In a large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add melted butter and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring until crumbly.
  3. Form Base: Firmly press half of the crumble mixture into the prepared baking dish to form the base.
  4. Prepare Apple Filling: In a separate bowl, toss sliced apples with granulated sugar and lemon juice until evenly coated.
  5. Assemble the Bars: Layer the apple slices evenly over the base. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apples. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the top of the apples and caramel.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares. This will help them hold their shape.

Notes

  • For an extra flavorful twist, add a pinch of nutmeg to the apple filling.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert.
  • Make sure to let the bars cool completely to allow them to set properly.
  • You can use store-bought caramel sauce for convenience or make your own if preferred.
